If you are searching for a job there can’t be any mistakes. However, you should be ready to the fact that you résumé will have a lot in common with the résumé of most applicants. I don’t mean you should write something really incredibly in it, simply avoid the following mistakes:
- Your former employer changed its name
That is not a very pleasant situation and there is the one way to cope with it. Mention the current name of the company and put its former name in brackets. In case the company you’ve been working for doesn’t exist anymore – mention its name and be sure to leave contacts of the person who can tell your new employer about you.
- You have a gap in your work history
For example, you have large gaps that can’t be unnoticed in your working history, then you should know that you can’t lie simply switch the attention of your new employer and write more about your own functional skills.
- You’ve worked for only one company
The company was not bad and you were working in it for a long period of time. In such a situation emphasize career growth and list each position you’ve held here.
