Hello my dear readers! I am back. Right after our traditional calendar we will talk about scenario of press conference. This is very important for any PR manager to prepare detailed scenario for event.

This day, 26th of November was born
(1731) William Cowper England, preromantic poet (His Task)

Well, first of all, to organize good and effective press conference you should write a press release about upcoming event (read my previous post “How to write press release”. You have to be sure that subject of press conference is newsworthy and interesting for mass media representatives. Otherwise nobody will come to listen to you.

What is scenario? It includes determination of time-limits and agenda.
During conference you should strictly control participants speech and follow your agenda. After registration all journalists which came to your event, the subject of conference might be announced and all participants are introduced to audience.

First part is introduction. Let your official representative talk about your company, it’s achievements and problems (if any) in this business sector.

Second part is crucial and much tell about subject of conference. In your scenario all speeches of each speakers must be written and followed.

Make a list of questions which journalists most probably will ask. You have to be ready to answer all of of them in a full and competent.

After general questions, be ready to give an interview to one of TV channel sor newspapers.

Check and control all articles which will be published after your press conference to estimate efficiency of conference you held.

Good luck to you and be professional!

My dear readers, since now I will put here a current date calendar of birthdays of famous writers. If you need to know who wa born at the same date as you – welcome to my blog and check out here.
So, today is 17th October, and this was were born:

1864 Elinor Glyn British novelist
1903 Nathanael West American novelist
1915 Arthur Miller playwright

How to write an article about any subject? There are few definite rules on writing articles of any desirable topic. There are few definite rules of writing articles. You have to know them before start writing to make this process easier and faster.

For example, if you have received a task from your boss to write an article but you feel you are absolutely non-competent within given subject – then see my tips and be positive) .
This might help you to achieve professionally looking result.

Go to Internet and collect as more essential information related your topic as you can.

Compose some kind of skeleton for article which is consist of following points:

Introduction (general description of current situation in sphere)

Events and facts (put here some facts and digits)

Problem, or short story of this problem’s solving

Potential or visible consequences

Add some authority’s opinions concerning his own vision

Write a short summary

Spread your founded information logically between mentioned above and add some literal and descriptive framework by beautiful, enhancive words.

Check all once again. Your article is ready.

It will take 40-50 minutes, not more. (Such a smart girl I am)) Actually I am using this template all the time and getting money for my work.

The most important you have to be able to do – is to search correct information in Internet.

If it helps – let me know in comments!

This part is about formatting press release.

1. NEVER WRITE A PRESS RELEASE IN ALL UPPER CASE LETTERS. It is an ugly manner.

2. Word processor. Write your press release on a word processor instead of composing online. Writing online will not achieve best results. Take time to do it right. Write, print, proof read.

3. More than one paragraph. It is nearly impossible to tell your story in a few sentences. If you do not have more than a few sentences, chances are you do not have a newsworthy item.

4. Summary paragraph. Some distribution points only receive your headline, summary and a link to your press release. If you fail to include a summary paragraph, you may reduce the effectiveness of your press release.

5. Ticker Symbols. Never include ticker symbols of other companies without their express written permission.

6. Get Permission. Companies are very protective about their reputation. Be sure that you have written permission before including information or quotes from employees or affiliates of other companies or organizations. Any dispute resolution will favor the other company, meaning that your press release may get pulled.

7. About your company. Your press release should end with a short paragraph (company boilerplate) that describes your company, products, service and a short company history.

Press release part 1

Related: Can a press release really be more powerful than ppc and various advertising agencies time tested tricks and gimmicks? Certainly with email marketing running rampant and increasing costs of search engine optimization, a press release directing potential customers to your dedicated servers can bring witness to hundreds if not thousands of new customers.

My dear readers, this following information will assist you when writing corporate press release.
This chapter is about plot and text of press release.

1. Press release is not an AD. Editor will never put you release which contain ad at newspaper. Press release is just an informational point.

2. Your headline must be strong and should reflect an essence of following event, Ideally Under 80 Characters.
( “X” company advises biggest “Y” holding about foreign investments.)

3. Tell only the facts. Avoid fluff, embellishments and exaggerations. If your story sounds too good to be true, you are probably hurting your own credibility.

4. Your news have to be actual and timely, but not about “last week”.

5. Use only short sentences and words. Rather than writing “entered into a partnership” use “partnered” instead. Remember that editor doesn’t want to spend his time reading mountains of releases.

6. The main thing about content is in five questions.
WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY.
Nothing else.

7. News must be newsworthy, interesting and useful as information. Not everything what happen in your company is a news.

8. Include a short corporate backgrounder, about the company or the person who is newsworthy before you list the contact person’s name and phone number.

Press release part 2

Related: One of the excellent tools you can use in your online marketing is the use of press releases. It can go miles beyond a new web design and faster web hosting in reaching an untapped market. The pay per click campaigns often work, but at a high expense, and cheaper than the cost of two domain names, press releases can reach thousands of potential visitors for virtually free.
